John Watt

Still under construction,
I apologize for taking so long,

even to where I refinished my guitar,

and haven't redefined this domain with it.
There is so much criminal interference in my life,

some doubt any endeavor of mine can succeed.
That's why I'm a mayoral candidate. I believe just
saying no to criminals would be the best new policy
that would let the City of Welland recover what it can.

Please enjoy the music menu,

it's got a lot of different flavors,

and I tried to write something,
just for you.

The City of Welland

Mayoral Candidate

If I want to be known as an elected public official,

talking about Welland and all my Canadian travels,

it's the history, stories and opinions of who I met,
showing me life more than just a personal project.

My parents were founding and charter members of Knox Presbyterian Church, now on Fitch St.,

and I was singing there before kindergarten.

There always was musical instruments around,

but after I saw The Jimi Hendrix Experience,

I got an Atlas Steels full-time job to buy the

same Stratocaster and Marshall with effects.

This made me more serious about playing and

making all those sounds, but I was always just

jamming acoustics with friends and never was

in a teen band or any rock band, until a road

band needing a lead guitarist called one day.
At the time criminal harassment and intimidation

were added to my knowledge that any career

of mine wasn't going to be successful in Welland.

It became practical to live where I was working,

and life on the road was Monday to Saturday,

or salary gigs were just an evening or weekend,

and what was life on the road, being ready to be

onstage at nine, having all day to visit and talk

with everyone I met, hitch-hikers to a Premier.
